When I reached Kathmandu after a long ride on the highway, I stopped at a nearby restaurant to quench my hunger with momos. I placed my order, on top, you know how it feels like waiting for your favorite thing especially after escaping highway food that had been missing for months. Meanwhile, an interesting scene caught my attention. A beautiful but helpless bird was imprisoned in a tiny cage. It looked like they were trying with every power in their little bodies to break that lock with their beak, one after another in a rhythmic way as if they were aligned for that task.
My heart was broken to see a bird meant to take off into the sky in freedom forced to live in such a misery. I wish there was some revolution as such for these speechless birds so that no one would cage their natural right to be under the open sky.
I started to wonder what our situation would be if we were devoid of freedom. We could have been colonized, but our mighty forefathers fought till death to make sure that we can enjoy the freedom. My utmost respect to all the brave souls who fought for the freedom of Nepal.
